# Versioning

The API version is in every product route's path. /v1 is current, and a breaking change ships under a new major version.

Every product route's path starts with its version: `/v1` is the current contract. A breaking change ships under a new major version, such as `/v2`, never inside `/v1`. The health checks, `/health` and `/health/ready`, have no version.

The OpenAPI document's `info.version` counts revisions of that document for the current path version. It is not the API's version.
